What is simulation-based Learning?

A simulation allows learners to experience an event as if it was really happening. ‘Simulate’ means to replicate the essential features of a task or situation. Learners interact with simulations in a similar manner to how they would react in the real world (Blignaut, 1999).

The purpose of a simulation is to help the student build a useful mental model of part of the world and to provide an opportunity to test it safely and efficiently” (Alessi & Trollip).

1. Contextualise the learning in a real life scenario that learners may face on the job.
2. Provide a safe, simulated environment where learners have the opportunity to practice their skills without fear of real-life consequences.
3. Utilise remedial feedback to explain the consequences of mistakes and reinforce best practice.
4. Simplify and control reality by removing complex systems that exist in real life, so the learner can focus on the knowledge to be learnt effectively and efficiently (Alessi & Trollip 1991)

Our Mission is to bring education to life.

We have a wide variety of equipment for hire; from training pathology arms, all kinds of individual limbs right through to wireless manikins. We have an extensive range of wireless manikins, starting with prem babies, infants and juniors through to adults.

We can offer a wide range of courses that would benefit Hospitals, University, training schools also first aid and pathology and lets not for get all the vets out there too. You can facilitate our simulation centre for CPR training too. The centre is available for your organisation needing help in finding venues to train health care professional on all levels.

We can offer you conference and dedicated debrief room, two triage areas along with a theatre and observation and control rooms. Up to date technology means you can access the internet and video conferencing using one of our many computers and lap tops available to hire. We are flexible to your educational needs. Bring your own program or we can accommodate you to develop one, design your own centre or with our help.
